The Ocean Campaign was started by volunteers who wanted to make a difference—not just for nature, but for the people who live close to it.
We believe that real change happens when passionate individuals come together and take responsibility.
Through community, action, and hope, the Ocean Campaign has grown into a movement that brings together divers, beach cleaners, children, families, schools, and businesses all across Trøndelag.
Every campaign is about more than just picking up trash.
It’s about learning, experiencing, and understanding how everything is connected.
Underwater, divers document corals and marine life through Project Baseline Trondheim, while on land, volunteers work side by side to clean beaches, talk with passersby, and inspire new generations to care.
We collaborate with researchers, schools, organizations, and local businesses to create lasting impact.
The goal isn’t just to clean up—but to build a culture where responsibility, joy, and love for the ocean are at the center.
Throughout the year, we organize clean-up events, educational programs, and creative projects like music, theater, and film – all with one goal:
to spread hope, showcase solutions, and remind us all that change begins with small actions.

I started the Ocean Campaign because I care about people, nature, and the community we share.
The ocean has always held a special meaning for me.
As a child, I could sit in a boat for hours, simply watching the water, fascinated by the life beneath the surface and the calm it brought.
Through the Ocean Campaign and previous initiatives, I’ve met incredible people who share that same passion.
For me, the Ocean Campaign is about more than clean-ups.
It’s about taking responsibility, creating something together, and finding meaning in community.
I believe in never giving up – and that change starts with ourselves.
If more people cared just a little more, about each other and the environment, we could build a much better world together.

I participate in the Ocean Campaign because I want to help more people see the value of nature and take care of it.
I want to make a difference and especially inspire children and young people to care about the ocean and marine pollution.
Unfortunately, this isn’t a topic that’s talked about enough in our daily livesm and what we need is a community of voices that are finally being heard.

For me, dance is a world of its own – a place where I can truly be myself, where the body can express what words cannot.
Through movement, I can convey hope, strength, and unity, and show that all life is connected, both on land and in the ocean.
Through the Ocean Campaign, I want to use dance to create a connection between people and nature, and to show that change can also come through art, rhythm, and emotion.

Our Story
The Ocean Campaign began as a local initiative to care for the fjord, a small step that grew into a powerful movement.
From the very first clean-up actions in Trondheim, we have grown into a community of divers, beach cleaners, children, families, and businesses – all sharing a common vision:
a cleaner, healthier ocean for future generations.
Over the years, we’ve documented changes beneath the surface, deployed environmental sensors, and shown how collaboration between people can lead to lasting impact.
